With the glowing red-hot molten steel tapped into the ladle, the new Converter No. 3 at PT DEXIN was started up successfully on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. June 19th. This new converter is equipped with a wide range of advanced, green and intelligent technologies from WISDRI.

This is the third BOF project awarded to WISDR at the same plant. PT.DEXIN selected WISDRI as the EPC contractor in September 2017 to build a 3.5 MTPA integrated steel plant in Indonesia, for which WISDRI had delivered a comprehensive life cycle solution package throughout the entire production process, including pre-phase technical consulting, overall plant planning, ironmaking, steelmaking, continuous casting, hot rolling, the power plant, coal stockyard and plant-wide auxiliary facilities. Against all odds and challenges including but not limited to those caused by COVID pandemics, WISDRI completed the project to the full satisfaction of the client and started the project on schedule.

In 2021, when PT DEXIN Steel envisaged the expansion of the existing steel plant by adding one 1780m3 blast furnace, one 120t BOF and one argon rinsing station, they came to seek solution from WISDRI in the first place and relied on WISDRI once again to supply the said facilities.

After startup of this converter, PT. DEXIN will form a total production capacity of 6 million ton per annum.
